How will the Spartakus V6 rollout occur?

V6 is the latest version of Spartakus APM. It isn’t a simple version update, it’s a complete rebuild of the entire platform. With such changes comes many challenges. In this article, we will delve into the V5 to V6 migration process.
1. A smooth transition
Being two distinct platform with different programming language the transfer uses a program that is designed to convert the data from one form to another. This process is automatic, takes a few hours depending on the quantity of data, and can be scheduled outside working hours. The transition will be done in phase and depends on the requirements of each site.
2. What to expect before the transfer?
The transition is in 3 steps.
- You will receive an email approximately 12-16 days before the transfer notifying you of the upcoming changes. This email will contain a link to video highlighting the major changes.
- 3 days prior to transfer you’ll receive another email clarifying the exact date and time of the transfer. If you use the mobile application of Spartakus, all routes that were begun prior to the transfer date and time will need to be completed before the transfer.
- Shortly after the transfer is complete, you will receive a third email confirming the transfer. It will also contain the URL link to Spartakus V6. If you attempt to connect to version V5 you automatically be redirected to V6.
3. What to expect after the transition?
There are some elements to consider once in V6:
- Resemblance and differences: V6 is meant to be similar enough to V5 from a UI perspective that you should be able to transfer comfortably. The first image below comes from V5 and the other V6. As you can observe, there is an obvious resemblance. However, should you require any assistance, we will gladly provide it.

- Legacy features: Not every feature that exists in V5 will exist in V6. Some features were created many years ago and are either no longer in use or used by a very small selection of individuals. If you are using a V5 feature that you believe might be in that category, be sure to advise the Spartakus team before the transfer. They will verify if the feature exists in V6 first. Removing certain unused or rarely used features allows us to dedicate our resources to new and exciting functionalities.
